Russian Log / 025

What I did today:
  • lots of passive listening (podcasts, audio from my textbook)
  • finished chapter 2 of my textbook
  • reading (story)
  • vocab
  • reviews (grammar, vocab)
I've reached another little milestone: I finished chapter 2 of my textbook! Tomorrow, I will add grammar points with example sentences and important / difficult vocab to my Anki deck.

As I said before, I'm very selective when it comes to the question, what I add to my deck. I could add vocab and grammar points as soon as they come up in my textbook. But I give myself time to get used to it until I finish the chapter. In my experience, some things are easier to remember than others.  For example: хихикать (to giggle). It sounds like a giggle (hihi). XD I only add words, that are difficult to remember even after a couple of days.

Today I've found some russian podcasts. One about history and some about politics. In the history podcast they probably talked about world war 2 and about the actions of Germany and Japan. At least I heard the names of these countries (and others) all the time.

They talk fast and tend to mumble, but I do not worry about that. The day will come when I will be able to understand these podcasts (and other native media) more clearly.
