Japanese Reading Log: #001 まぼろしの星 (3)

#001 まぼろしの星 (Part 3)

The last chapter I've read was interesting. The crew had to deal with a insidious trap...

It seems, that the author rarely uses synonyms. That may be the reason why it's so easy to learn new words (certain words come up quite often). I can remember most of these words even though there is so much time between my reading sessions (a whole day). Normally, when I read more complex texts, it's difficult to remember new words I've read like 5 minutes ago. XD

That's understandable, because one paragraph of a more complex text contains much more new words than one or even two pages of this book here.

It's advisable to find texts where you come across new words  so that you can learn something from it. But the density of new words shouldn't be too high either. If you have to look up most of the words of one sentence or one paragraph, the difficulty is probably too high.

Ideally, new and known words should be balanced. Finding such texts is not easy, of course. But one can switch between easy and difficult texts. Try to strike a balance.

Anyway, I'm curious how the story will develop. Although it feels like I'm in the middle of the story, I still have to read much more to actually reach the middle of the book. ^^;
